When I was asked to take on a website for a startup modelling agency I thought it might be a good way to keep my hand in. Little did I know that I had to start from scratch. Of course it is easier second time around, and in some ways coming at problems afresh can be rewarding when you discover some solutions that evaded you before.
The biggest problem is not having my own web server and instead relying on whatever is available to me from my hosting company. I miss the freedom that comes with complete control. Anyway, little by little, I seem to be getting there. At the moment I'm building an application with MS SQL for the uploading and display of model details, which includes handling quite a large picture library. It's not something I've done before, so it's interesting and quite absorbing.
